Mechatronics engineer. AI builder. Stars of Science qualifier. And the person who watched someone he loved shrink in silence.
Omar is a mechatronics engineer (Rafik Hariri University, 2021–2025) working at the intersection of robotics, embedded systems, and applied AI. He built Carely end-to-end,the physical hub, the three-layer cognitive analysis pipeline, and the n8n-powered caregiver alert and reporting system, drawing on internship work interfacing biomedical sensors over I²C and deploying GPT-4o-mini on local edge hardware. A Stars of Science "Council of Knowledge" qualifier (Seasons 16 & 17), capstone team lead on a servo-driven bionic exo-arm, and a patent holder for the Solar Sponge renewable-energy initiative.
Designed and prototyped a system to repurpose expired solar panels for rainwater harvesting and filtration. Created a full business model and secured a patent for the innovation.
Built a robotic assistant to support surgeons during operations, increasing procedural precision and reducing human error through stable mechanical control.
Designed an autonomous robotic system for emergency crowd control, minimizing human involvement by 50% through smart sensing and mobility in emergency scenarios.
A chemical-free, self-sustaining agricultural system using sound frequencies and solar energy to enhance plant growth and efficiency.
Team lead on a servo-driven prosthetic arm prototype. Contributed to CAD modelling, motor integration, 4-bar mechanisms, potentiometer sensing, and control logic differentiating voluntary from involuntary motion.
Built the complete hardware-software system: the physical hub, 3-layer cognitive AI pipeline, N8N automation, and caregiver reporting infrastructure. Presented at a hospital medical conference and received a certificate of appreciation from Dr. Nabil Naja, Head of Geriatrics.
