Terms & Policies

Everything, in plain terms.

The terms, privacy, and refund policies that govern your use of Carely.

Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 June 2026

By creating a Carely account, downloading the Carely application, or subscribing to a Carely plan, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. The service

Carely is an AI-assisted companion and monitoring service for elderly care, providing conversational interaction, reminders, weekly summaries to designated contacts, and emergency notifications. Carely is a supportive tool and is not a medical device; it does not provide medical, diagnostic, or emergency-response services.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate caregiver and patient information when registering.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure.
  • You confirm you are authorised to enter the patient's information and to add the contacts you designate.

3. Subscriptions & billing

Carely is offered on a recurring subscription, billed in advance through our payment processor. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You may cancel anytime from the app or web portal; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse, disrupt, or access the service in an unauthorised way.
  • Do not use Carely as a substitute for professional medical care or emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

5. Disclaimers & liability

Carely is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carely is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

6. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026

This policy explains what Carely collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Information we collect

  • Account data: caregiver name, email, phone; patient name and profile details you enter.
  • Care data: reminders, contacts, family notes, and medical-state information you provide.
  • Interaction data: summaries and AI-generated observations from the patient's conversations, used to produce reports and cognitive-interaction insights.

How we use it

  • To operate the service: deliver reminders, generate weekly reports, and send emergency notifications to the contacts you designate.
  • To produce the patient's insights and Cognitive Interaction Index.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Storage & processing

Care data (profile, reminders, contacts, notes, and AI-generated summaries) is stored in secured cloud storage and processed through our server-side broker. Credentials and API keys are never stored on the patient device.

To deliver the service, the patient's voice recordings and conversation text are sent to third-party artificial-intelligence providers for speech recognition, conversation, and speech synthesis. These providers act as our processors and handle the data only to perform their function for us.

Service providers (sub-processors)

We rely on the following providers strictly to operate Carely. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

  • Groq — speech-to-text; processes the patient's voice audio.
  • OpenAI — conversational AI and cognitive-interaction analysis.
  • ElevenLabs and Microsoft (Edge voices) — text-to-speech.
  • Google — secured cloud storage of care data.
  • Cloudflare and Netlify — hosting, our server-side broker, and report/email delivery.
  • Dodo Payments — subscription billing; card details are handled by the processor and we never see or store full card numbers.

This list may change as the service evolves; we will update this policy when it does.

Sharing

Reports and emergency alerts are shared only with the contacts you add (family, medical professionals, caregivers). Beyond the sub-processors above, we do not share your data except when required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

Your choices & contact

You can view, edit, export, or delete patient data directly from the app. To request full account deletion, reach us through the Contact page.

Refund Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026

Subscriptions

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and access remains until the end of the paid period.
  • Payments already made for the current period are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.

Requesting a refund

If you were charged in error, experienced a service failure, or believe you are entitled to a refund, reach out within 14 days of the charge with your account email and transaction details (see contact below). We review each request and, where approved, issue the refund to the original payment method.
